Had breakfast here today and the staff were absolutely excellent. Nothing too much trouble and one of us did not want sausages so they swapped it out for extra bacon and hash brown. The traditional breakfast was excellent, good portion size and quality of food. Very impressed with the customer service and food received today. Many thanks

It was great we got a few different things off the menu , only thing was we had to because there was only one meat on the carvery (beef) which my wife and child dont like . I quickly got rid of my sweetcorn onto my daughters plate but other than that everything tasted lovely. Beef was a little overcooked for my liking but plenty to go at , just could of done with a jug of gravy on the side .very pleasant staff and quick with there service.

This place has risen again, the quality of the food went downhill earlier in the year but we went last night for the first time in quite a while and have to say the food is back to being five star. Spicy chicken wings were incredible!! The inferno burger was exactly as describe and the Mrs enjoyed her scampi and chips. All washed down with some drinks of which there is a good selection. It was a cosy atmosphere and they had the fire lit which was a welcome sight when we can in from the literal sub-zero temperatures outside. The staff are all good and friendly but this place is absolutely made by George and Shelley, too incredibly welcoming, warm and friendly people. They make all patrons feel special and put their heart and soul into the pub. Highly recommended if you’re visiting The Bay. EDIT: 01/11/24 WOW, what went wrong here? We used to really enjoy this place but rhis has seriously gone down hill. The front of staff who came to greet us at the door, left us stood for 6 or 7 mins without acknowledging us. When asked if we needed to be stood there to be seated, his response was “yes you do but I’m busy”!! Wow! Never come across such terrible customer service manner anywhere. Wait another 4 or 5 mins and he eventually came back and by now a longer queue had formed. He was curt, impolite and lacked any sort of customer service. The place was busy and is seriously short staffed, the queue for the bar was a further 10 minutes to place our order. All in all a really horrible experience. We will continue to visit The Bay as it’s a great destination but until The Joy Paul Jones staffs up and trains their staff, I would avoid. We certainly will be from now....
